The plot involves a group of four prostitutes targeting the pimp who forced them into business 15 years earlier. Journeyman actor Ray Stevenson has a ball here, playing the character with a jaunty twinkle in his eye and enough personality to make up for Skrein's lack of one. Apparently, he was a terrible one, because he gets kidnapped twice before the film ends. Frank Senior is a roguish charmer who says he's an Evian sales rep but is actually some kind of retired spy. That could derail the whole project, so the filmmakers smartly give Frank a dad to help him out. Skrein gets the first part of the equation down, but seems sadly deficient in the other two areas. These sorts of movies have never been so much about the plot, but at least in this case, fans are getting a bit more background on Martin than in previous big-screen installments (courtesy of director Camille Delamarre ( Brick Mansions (2014)) and screenwriters Adam Cooper and Bill Collage ( Exodus: Gods and Kings)).Jason Statham created the role, which seemed tailor-made to his particular brand of charisma - monosyllabic, suave and vaguely threatening. The new footage doesn't reveal much more plot-wise than what was featured in the first full-length trailer, though it does provide a taste of the kinetic hand-to-hand combat and high-speed action scenes the film will have in store for moviegoers next month. The actor is perhaps best known for his role as Daario Naharis in three episodes of Game of Thrones, but now that the Transporter reboot is gearing up to hit theaters, we're getting a better sense of how his take may compare to Statham's.Ĭourtesy of Machinima, a new trailer for the film has been released online (see above).
